What We’re All About!

Technically Tied Together Niagara helps seniors harness technology; to change perspectives on how we view aging and ignite passions. We believe seniors deserve to be supported and encouraged to pursue their passions, desires, interests, curiosities and yearnings.

Our History

T3 was started by Oxford Living, a Canadian leader in retirement living, but only made possible through the support and encouragement of Oxford’s staff, residents, families, and volunteers. The program is also supported by funding from the Government of Canada’s New Horizons Seniors Program.

Our Mission

Technically Tied Together (T3) is an elder-led, socially disruptive, non-profit initiative working to shatter old beliefs and create new meaning around growing old in Canada. We help elders use basic social technologies and digital tools with the single-minded goal of re-awakening passions among elders and creating connections, experiences, and opportunities around passions.

Our Goals

Technically Tied Together Niagara helps local seniors harness technology to change the way we age and ignite their passions. We are committed to helping seniors avoid isolation and loneliness.

We’re not about the latest sites, gadgets, apps and technologies we are focused on fighting isolation amongst elderly people by creating opportunities to come together to learn, work, play, create and thrive in the digital age.

Technically Tied Together Niagara is a senior-led initiative committed to helping local seniors use digital technology to:

  • Make Friends
  • Be Entertained
  • Improve Health and Wellness
  • Have Fun
  • Learn Something
  • Get Action
  • Make Something
  • Socialize and Connect
  • Make a Difference

Our Values

Technically Tied Together Niagara is built on the following values:

Passion

Passion is T3’s leading value as our program is built on the focus of participants interests, wants, and desires. We as an organization value a person-centered approach which allows us to ignite individual passions and connect participants with others who share the same spirit!

Teamwork

T3 is always eager to connect with like-minded organizations, volunteers, and students to provided quality programming, events, and support to our participants. Everyone involved with T3 values the ‘we’ approach not ‘I’, and believe that team-work truly does make the dream-work!

Empowerment

Not only do we empower our participants to create self-sustainable projects that enhance socialization and connection, but we encourage multi-generational connections and knowledge transfer. By creating feelings of empowerment in everyone who is involved with T3, we hope to emphasize a new form of community-based wellness founded on peer-to-peer support!

Advocacy

T3 is dedicated to shattering negative stereotypes around aging and seniors. By not only empowering seniors to share their own stories and opinions, we as an organization vow to always take the direction of seniors and challenge negative views on older adults and promote a positive and real image of the seniors we serve!

Our Team

T3 Niagara is driven by program leaders in five Ontario communities but supported across Ontario by all site teams at all Oxford Living locations as well as Oxford’s residents and families plus an army of dedicated and volunteers and supporting local partners.
